ELM Trio: 5 - Vacant: 2 |
We had the vacant team on the schedule which required us to bowl within 45 pins of our team average to avoid a loss. This meant we had to reach 504 for a tie and 505 or higher for a win. Anything below 504 would be a loss. We cleared the 504 hurdle with ease in the first two games but we barely pulled it off in the last one. But as the saying goes, a win is a win.

It appears this league handles series against a vacant team differently than the other leagues in which I've bowled. Since it's not specified in the league rules, I assumed it's the same as a forfeit. However, in this league, we're bowling against a team of three phantom bowlers with 140 averages + handicap. This means they have a team average of 420. Our team average is 549 so the difference is 129 and 90% of that is 116. Thus, we had to beat a score of 536 to earn a win. our scores of 570 and 540 were good enough to win the first two games but our 512 in the third game left us short. We barely earned the point for total pinfall by a score of 1622-1608. Our record for this night was only 5-2, not 7-0. Our record for the season is 29-6 instead of 31-4.
